The Herbaliser were a production duo out of the UK that I first heard in the late 90s. They were on Ninja Tune and I would group them with guys like DJ Krush, Shadow and Vadim. This song caught my attention because it was one of the first times I heard What? What? currently known as Jean Grae. She sounds like a cross between Ladybug from Digable Planets and Bahamadia. “The Blend” featured 3 mixes – one by The Herbaliser, one by Joe Cuba and one by Peanut Butter Wolf which I prefer the most.
